Boston University's D.J. Irving has earned the StatSheet America East Player of the Week for the week ending February 11th. John Papale from Boston University has won StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week. And finally, Joey Getz from Maryland-Baltimore County is the StatSheet America East 6th Man of the Week. Irving tallied big numbers in shooting (50%), rebounding (8 per game), and assists (4.5 per game). The Boston University junior put these numbers up in victories versus Maine and Binghamton.

Irving topped all rebounding for the Terriers with 10 while also adding 3 steals in a 79-72 win over Maine. That was followed by a team-leading 27 points plus an additional 3 steals in a huge 79-58 win against Binghamton.

This is the first time this season that D.J. Irving has been selected StatSheet America East Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is our own Brian Voelkel. Honorable mention goes to our own Clancy Rugg.

StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week: Boston University's John Papale

This is the first StatSheet America East Freshman of the Week honor for John Papale. Jordan Reed from Binghamton gets runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Peter Hooley from Albany.

StatSheet America East 6th Man of the Week: Maryland-Baltimore County's Joey Getz

Sophomore Joey Getz, a 6-0 guard, played an average of 22 minutes over two games for the Retrievers. In a 79-56 loss to Albany, Getz got 5 points and 3 rebounds. Then in a 67-55 loss to Vermont, he led all scoring and rebounding with 12 points and 6 rebounds.

This is the first StatSheet America East 6th Man of the Week honor for Joey Getz. Jon McAllian, a senior guard from Maine, is runner up. Jeron Trotman, a senior forward from New Hampshire, earns honorable mention. Vermont players have been named StatSheet America East Player of the Week once this season.
